My 2018 Running Playlist

Every runner knows that running is a mindset game more than a physical one. When I first started running a decade ago, I would listen to podcasts. Now, I still sometimes do that (or an audiobook), but last year when I picked up my running shoes again, I found that peppy music was what my heart needed to really break the barriers for those 5k and 10k runs! For today’s #FridayFun, I’m sharing with you my 2018 running playlist. It’s a mix of genres and songs that speak to my heart. Many of them have come from some of my favorite people and were added to the list because let’s face it, sometimes we need our friends to help expand our taste in music. *wink*

My 2018 Running Playlist..

  1. I’ll Be There – Jess Glynne
  2. NO EXCUSES – Meghan Trainer
  3. The Champion (feat. Ludacris) – Carrie Underwood
  4. I Can Handle It – Steven Furtick
  5. Born Ready – Dove Cameron
  6. I Will Be Confident – Steven Furtick
  7. Look What You Made Me Do – Taylor Swift
  8. This Is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things – Taylor Swift
  9. Feel So Close – Calvin Harris
  10. Stand By You – Rachel Platten
  11. Hands To Myself – Selena Gomez
  12. Kill Em With Kindness – Selena Gomez
  13. Don’t Be So Hard On Yourself – Jess Glynne
  14. Slip Slide – Donnie Trumpet & The Social Experiment
  15. White Flag – Bishop Briggs
  16. All I Do Is Win (feat. T-Pain, Ludacris, Snoop Dogg, & Rick Ross) – DJ Khaled
  17. Thunder – Imagine Dragons
  18. Confident – Demi Lovato
  19. Warrior – Hannah Kerr
  20. Me Too – Meghan Trainer
  21. Still Rolling Stones – Lauren Daigle
  22. Castle – Halsey

There you have it! One hour and seventeen minutes of pure, pump-you-up jams! Yes, I love me some rap music, and some TSwift, and some soulful songs that make me think because sometimes I slow my pace and think and talk to God while I run. One day soon I’ll share with you my 2019 running playlist, but for now, I highly suggest you lace up those tennis shoes and run your heart out to the beat of the tunes on this running playlist!

Much love,

9 Ideas to Network More

Let’s talk about networking. Everyone needs to network more, and many people get intimidated by it. Including, sometimes, yours truly. Yes. It’s true. When I over think it, I get totally intimidated by the networking idea. Which is so silly! Because, after chatting with my husband the other night, I realized that networking actually energizes me! And here I’ve been believing the silly little lie that it drains me. Nope. What actually drains me is not knowing where to start or just plain procrastinating on it. That’s draining. So I made a list for myself; I’m challenging myself to do all nine of these items in the next thirty days – and I’m sharing it here for you so you can borrow it.

Nine Quick Ideas to Network More…

  1. Grab coffee with an old friend or acquaintance and ask how you can help them grow their business.
  2. Be a guest at a networking meeting such as Master Networks.
  3. Attend a fundraiser event and meet 5 new people.
  4. Schedule breakfast, lunch, or coffee with each of the new people you met.
  5. Start a conversation with someone new at the gym.
  6. FaceTime an old friend and have a real conversation.
  7. Reach out to a mentor or colleague in the same field as you and learn from their experience.
  8. Apply to be a speaker at an upcoming event.
  9. Find a non-profit to be a part of and learn about what it takes to be on their committee.

Short. Simple. Now the kicker is to just DO IT! wink I’m all in. How about you?

Much love,

Things That Make Me Laugh

Happy Friday! Winter is mad today in Bismarck, North Dakota and I am currently sitting at my desk in the office with a piping hot cup of joe, while listening to the melodies of snow removal vehicles outside. It’s quite magical if I do say so myself. LOL! Speaking of laughing out loud, today’s Friday Fun post is nothing but snarky photos that I hope bring laughter to your day. So pull up a chair and let’s both chuckle at this list of five Pinterest pins – the things that make me laugh!

What went wrong here?

Seriously. This confuses me on so. many. levels. Why wold you do this to your daughter’s hair? Also, can someone please fix her tag that’s sticking up? I’m sure all my Green, Emerald, OCD friends would love to have that fixed as well! *wink*

I need this sign.

If I walked into someone’s bathroom and saw this on the wall, or nestled on the counter somehow, I would totally chuckle and know that these peeps are my kind of peeps. It’s a gift idea for the Anderson’s for real! Witty signage will always be on my list of things that make me laugh! *sips coffee and wonders why she doesn’t go to Hobby Lobby more often. Oh yeah. Recovering shopaholic, that’s why.*

My phone wishes I were cool…

This cracks me up! My phone changes words all the time, too! Some of the top auto-correct fails that my phone has done include:

  • switching “Ugh” to “Uganda” (this is now a hilarious inside joke with me and my besties.)
  • telling my mother “okie spike!” when what I really meant was “okie dokie.” If you get an okie spike text from me, you now know what I really meant.
  • And last, but certainly not least, this fail: BANANA!!!! (To this day Raychel and I still don’t know what we were trying to text each other. All we know is that our phones want us to eat more bananas.)

Writer humor.

Writers are interesting creatures and this coffee cup is real on so many levels. You’ve been warned!

Bra math.

Bahahaha!!! Can I get an amen, sister friends? This is SO REAL, RIGHT?!

Alright, so hopefully you’ve had a chuckle or a belly laugh with me as we traveled down the list of things that make me laugh. Stay warm if it’s snowy and stay happy if it’s sunny.

Much love,

~Coach Mandy

December 2018 Favorite Things

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! (You just sang that in your head, didn’t you? It’s okay, I did too!) December is one of my favorite months because it is my birthday month AND it is Christmas! So naturally I’m super stoked to share with you my December Favorite Things!

You guys, I’ve got a new obsession! I have never been a nail girl because I like short nails and I am a messy nail painter. So I usually skip it. But THIS is my new favorite thing! One of our Champions sells them and she has a new monster of a client in ME! LOL! But for real they are so super easy to use and there are so many color options that make them fun and addictive! Find yourself a Color Street Nail Rep (or click here to meet mine!) and get in on this trend.

Another obsession of mine this month: Lipsense lip colors. They stay on FOREVER! Which is a good thing because I eat snacks and drink coffee and water all day long. But I never have to reapply because these are amazing! My favorite colors right now are Bella, Sugar Plum, and Candycane.

So this poncho is actually a last year deal from White House Black Market (my favorite store!). But seriously December just begs for the winter white color, doesn’t it though? I used to wear this poncho with leggings and wasn’t sure about it. However, it’s my new favorite outfit because I paired it with Rockstar ripped skinny jeans from Old Navy and some awesome heels. Classy and trendy is my style!

Christmas is my favorite. I just love the romance and the coziness of the twinkling lights. Several years ago, during my Picasso stage, I painted some canvases around our home and I made these cute little photo canvases. It wasn’t until last year that I realized they made perfect ornaments for the tree! This one is a special little treat because Ajah B. was our fur baby for 13 years. She passed away in early 2017. She’s forever in our hearts though and seeing her cute face between the twinkling lights on our tree just fills me with bittersweet joy.

This is THE best stuff. Especially if you have thick hair, like yours truly. It cuts down on drying time immensely. Confession: I broke the top though so this gold top is my way of being thrifty and fixing it! Grab your own bottle at the nearest Aveda salon! (My Favorite local spot is Silo Salon.)

So that’s my list of favorite things for December! What are some of your favorites this month? I’d love to hear in the comment section below!

Much love,
~Coach Mandy

I Can’t Be A Good Coach and a Good Business Woman at the Same Time

We’ve been facing lies and labels here since before there was an actual big blue couch. It’s just what my besties and I do. Recently I discovered an interesting lie rumbling around in my head: I Can’t Be A Good Coach and a Good Business Woman at the Same Time. Hear me out on this. Anytime we start a sentence with “I can’t,” we should pay attention. We should pay attention because what follows is almost always a big. Fat. Lie.

We can do way more than we give ourselves credit for. You can do way more than you give yourself credit for! And so can I.

This lie that we can’t be good at more than one thing has got to go. For me, it’s the lie of “I Can’t Be A Good Coach and a Good Business Woman at the Same Time.” That’s a load of crap because the truth is that I AM good at both AND I’m getting better at both, too!

Here’s the TRUTH that I will start telling myself when that lie tries to stop me from growing:

  • I have a decade of experience of being a business woman, and nearly two decades of experience in the working world.
  • I’ve learned a LOT on this journey AND I’m not done learning! I’m willing to share what I’ve learned along the way, too.
  • I have six years of experience as a Coach and I’ve helped thousands of people get results!
  • What makes me a good Coach is how I encourage and believe in the people I get to work with. I am also not afraid to ask hard questions.
  • My own journey in life and business is what makes me a better Coach, too. I am always pushing myself to grow and level up in both areas.

Since I just discovered this lie, I’m going to give myself some grace to grow, but I’m also going to journal on where the root of this silly belief or thought might have come from. For now, the truth I shared above has already encouraged my soul more than I realized I needed!

So what about you? What lie do you need to face today so you can stop beating yourself up and encourage yourself? It’s more important than you realize to face the lies. You are worth it. This one life that you get to live, and what you choose to do with it, matters.

Find the lie today, my friend, and then encourage yourself with some truth.

Much love,

~Coach Mandy
