87: Affirmations to Build Your Resilience

The words you speak, matter. Ancient wisdom says that life and death is in the power of your tongue, and you will eat the fruit of it. This is why affirmations matter so much.

Several years ago, we developed the Truth Statement® concept. It was our way of using affirmations, but taking it a step further. The Truth Statement® concept is the art of taking God’s Word and personalizing it, and reminding yourself of who you will choose to be when the going gets tough.

A funny thing happened though as we started using this concept. We noticed that the clients that diligently applied it on a daily basis experienced profound improvements in their overall quality of life and self-worth. They stopped struggling to feel joy, happiness, and gratitude on a daily basis and instead lived in the reality of these qualities.

So today, we want to give you 12 Truth Statements® – Affirmations – that you can say to build your resilience. As you listen to us speak these, be sure to repeat them in the moments of silence afterwards. Don’t skip this! Your brain and your ears need to hear YOUR voice saying these statements. Ready? Let’s go…

84: Letting Go Of The Shame of Anxiety (Life Update From Mandy)

According to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, “Anxiety is a normal emotion that comes and goes in response to fears or worries about changes in health, work, relationships, or money. A person is said to have an anxiety disorder if the anxiety does not go away, gets worse over time, and prevents a person from participating in daily activities.” It affects nearly 40 million adults in the United States alone. If you’ve struggled with anxiety, I want you to know that you’re not alone. Me too. In today’s episode, I want to encourage you and help you get rid of the shame of anxiety by sharing my story with you. I’ll share a recent personal story about anxiety, as well as the natural and medical help I used to overcome it. Grab your coffee and let’s spend some time together – in my car as I drive, actually.

Quotes about letting go of the shame of anxiety:

Sometimes the chemical things happening in your body make it impossible to overcome anxiety without some medical intervention. If you have struggled with anxiety at all, I want to give you permission that it is okay if you need some medical intervention.

~Mandy B. Anderson, She Who Overcomes™ Podcast episode 84

I am sorry that there may have been people that have put this pressure on you that you need to faith your way out of medicine; that you have to positively think your way out of anxiety and depression. That is wrong on so many levels. It is not okay that you have felt that pressure or been pressured in that way, but I want to give you permission to embrace where you are at. Embrace the fact that sometimes your body just needs some medicine. And that’s okay.

~Mandy B. Anderson, She Who Overcomes™ Podcast episode 84

We’ve got to let go of the shame of anxiety. There is no shame in needing medical intervention. Your life is worth it.

83: The Choice to Grieve (Book Foreword with Raychel Perman, Part 2)

Tragedy brings grief. It is a natural cycle that every woman must go through when something or someone dies in her life. Every season of suffering brings with it the choice to heal and the choice to grieve. You can try and avoid it but there are serious consequences and the grief never really goes away- it just compounds. You bury it alive.  And I have watched enough scary movies to know that never ends well. Today’s podcast episode is part 2 of the brand new foreword for the second edition of the book, She Who Overcomes. We pray this encourages you today…
